I bought these bags as they were very sturdy and able to line a 5Gallon bucket. {Think Home Depot or Pickle Bucket}I put my dog food ? in these ? for containment, without touching the plastic. This way I can keep the lid on an prevent midnight snacking. ?I'm sure they are perfect for the original purpose, however ? I haven't used it as such. Get these bags is you need something sturdy. You will love them! ❤️This is a quality product, definitely a step up from Reynolds brand and others that can have failed seams(often). Thickness and size are great too. After starting a bread baking hobby this year (with the rest of America, thanks, Covid!) I realized I needed a few more oven bags to use to proof my loaves in. These seemed to be the ticket, and also to be overkill, but whatever, I was desperate, locked indoors, and Amazon would deliver them in two days. Woohoo! So, I got them, and they are amazing, very heavy duty and I have used the same four again and again to proof my bread in. I also cook a couple of spiral sliced hams a year, and I do them in oven bags, and I know these will be perfect. They are very sturdy/thick and I think they could be a great replacement for the other oven bags at the grocery store which are much, much more expensive. Also, I have used these as bags to harvest my garden's produce - lettuce, kale, etc. - into and they've stood up well in the fridge for that purpose.Fits hug turkeyI forgot to flour the bag, I was so worried I would lose all the skin, but the bag didn't stick at all! And our Thanksgiving turkey was so juicy and tender I will be using these bags again and again!I needed a bag to brine my fresh turkey. I used one of these bags to line a 5- gallon bucket, place turkey and brine inside a sealed the lid. 24 hours later I removed the turkey, and place the bucket in the garage to clean up later. No mess.I needed something to cook large meats sous vide that wouldn't fit my vacuum sealer or zip lock bags. These bags have worked great. I've cooked a whole chicken, pork butt and starting a ten pound brisket tomorrow. Rated up to 400*F I can dip the bagged brisket in boiling water for a few seconds to kill any lactic acid bacteria then drop it in the water bath. Using water displacement leaves some room for air to escape out the top. These will be my go to bags from here on out when I choose to sous vide instead of long cooks on the pit.Y'all, if you bribe or marinate your turkeys you need this! We have alw6used a cleaned out cooler that we scrubbed out every Thanksgiving & Christmas. Well said cooler bit the dust. Hubby found these....lifesaver. scrubbed out an old 5 gal bucket, put a bag in, dumped turkey & brine in it, tied it up & iced it down. Worked great just threw away & no scrub needed for Christmas! Did not give food a plastic taste. Did exactly what we needed it to do.No stick and works like a charm
