I turn around and they are gone.Dog likes thisHaving a Golden puppy who wants something in her mouth at all times I knew she’d love these—3 natural flavors: maple, vanilla, and cinnamon. That’s it. They last a little while, maybe 30 minutes, maybe more, depending on her mood.We’ve bought this product many times for our Cane Corsos. The product used to keep them busy for a while, being a nice thick chew and something the dogs couldn’t tear up right away. Lately, about half the bags or more that I receive have small, thin, skinny treats in them that is NOT what this product advertises to be. Quality control maybe??RE: Red Barn Naturals Joint Formula Bully Slices...I love Amazon, but sometimes the product descriptions are not quite correct. I know a number of us have alerted Amazon about this product (old image, no ingredient list in description, wrong weight,) so until they post an official update, I'll fill in the blanks:The current package is 9 oz, not 13.6 oz. Red Barn is no longer offering the larger package.Though these are called "Bully Slices" they are actually slices of cow ears that are coated with a sticky dusting of ingredients which they call "Bully Stick Coating."Ingredients (this is directly from the current package): Cow Ear, Liver, Egg Whites, Beef Pizzle, Chicken Cartilage, Fructose, Caramel Color, Fish Oil, Chicken Fat with Mixed Tocopherols, Blueberry Powder, Grape Seed Oil.Front and back of current package has a "Made in U.S.A." logo. (That doesn't mean all the ingredients are from the USA, but looking at their web page, Red Barn seems to source animal products from the US or "free range, grass fed" animal ranches in South America.)As an aside: "pizzle" is an old word for p*nis. (And yes, beef pizzle and bully sticks are dried bull p*nis.) But doesn't pizzle sound like current hip-hop/rap slang for, well, what it actually does mean?OK, back to the product and an actual review:My dogs love these treats, to the point that after they're done eating them they lick each other's snouts. I'm not thrilled that the ingredients include fructose and coloring, but otherwise the ingredients are ok. The individual pieces are all roughly rectangular, though with a variety of thickness and length. They DO have a strong odor, as you would expect from a mix of cow ear, fish oil, pizzle, and cartilage. The coating is sticky and will often stick to your fingers (and your dogs snout, and to carpet.) You'll definitely want to wash your hands after handling. The packaging actually has directions telling you to do so. As for snouts and carpet, the dogs take care of that.Not sure these are great for "joint support," though the ingredients in the coating are "right" towards that end. They certainly don't help doggy breath though, and given the fructose in the coating and the coating's stickiness I wonder about the effect on dental health, but as a daily or less often treat, it's probably fine in that regard.Finally, if you and your dogs like these, Amazon seems to consistently offer the lowest price.These aren't exactly bully sticks but they're still all right. To me they're like thin slices of rawhide with a coat of what looks like dried sauce on top. They're smelly but not as smelly as real bully sticks. Ace, my 75 lbs. German Shepherd likes bully sticks but he gets one of these slices every other day and can finish one in like 20 minutes at most if he takes his time (when he really wants it, takes him like 10 minutes!). This may not be as satisfying for most large dog owners or for the intense chewers but for small to medium size dogs, I think it's a better deal for them. More bang for their buck.I decided to share a few slices and gave it to my cousins' small dogs, a yorkie/poodle mix and a lhaso apso/maltese mix, and a medium size shetland sheepdog. The sheltie dog immediately seized it and took him nearly 30 minutes to devour it. The yorkie poo hesitated like always to new things but the smell was irresistible because after 10 minutes feinting no interest in it, he caved it and would not leave it alone until it was devoured in 30 to 40 minutes as well. The picky lhaso apso/maltese turned her nose at it like any other chew given to her but even after a few hours later, she took hers when she saw the sheltie trying to take it after he finished his. Even after their chew session with the slices, they save a little bit of it for later too!So after already going through 3 bags, I notice the width of the slices being sometime small or a little larger depending the batch. They are easily breakable by hand too so if a slice is too big, you can snap it in half to share for two small dogs.Overall, I rate this product 4/5 stars. Ace enjoys them but as much compare to actual bully sticks. It's a good treat once in a while for a large dog at the price of $7.27 and even better of a price for the small to medium size dogs. :)My dogs absolutely love these!Good flavor high protein and full of good productsIt's a great product but my lab puppy chews one so fast.
