I used to compost everything at home, but after divorce had to live in an apartment where that is not an option. I felt guilty using so many ziplocks for bad food to put in the freezer awaiting garbage day. Now I feel good knowing the bags I use will break down just fine wherever they end up. Guilt free!These seem to be the perfect compostable bags for our compost bin. Other bags would just rip so easily. These are stronger and more durable. However, it does leak when we throw in egg shells or grapes. They're literally biodegradable so I can't complain. I try to be creative and try not to put egg shells at the bottom or bend the grape vines. It's a hit-and-miss.The bags we used to use tore very easily. It's a bit annoying when your food garbage gets strewn all about! These tear much less easily. This is especially important for us, as we keep our food scraps in the freezer and frozen things can be sharp. It was banana peels that regularly did us in. Since switching to these bags we haven't had any problem.Why are people still using plastic? These should be in every grocery store produce section.Excellent product, works well for our food scrap compost.I love these bags, have been ordering them now for 2 years! My family & friend in Austria would also love to have these durable & leak proof bags!Bought these bags a few months ago. Was very satisfied, so I purchased them again. I do a lot of organic fruits, veggies and also coffee grounds. No leaks unless overloaded with heavy materials. If I put grounds in first, I make sure to put a couple of paper towels in bottom of bag...I've tried a few different brands of compost bags, and so far this is my favorite. Large enough to fit in our trash container and thick enough to not cause a mess.
