Recycling/reusing is absolutely necessary, but those shopping bags get to be germ and virus nurseries. I'm thrilled to have these tough, washable, no-nonsense bags to disinfect with my regular laundry and reuse.Inside pockets keep groceries organized and supported to prevent spilling. Outside straps allow for carrying by hand or over-the-shoulder. No more bags of bags in my car and closet.I really like these although they are a bit heavy themselves. The weight does make then quite sturdy. No fear of them breaking or tearing. I do recommend them.Love these new sturdy bags for my grocery shopping! And, they are also washable. I was concerned that they would not stand up on their own and make it difficult to put items in the bag, but they work great. Don’t overload them, though, if you don’t lift weights.In my 3-pack one was pristine, one had a few frays along the seams, and one had large frayed parts. I stitched some of them closed by hand (inexpertly) and just tried to treat the frayed bags gingerly. After 9 months the pristine one is still solid and takes whatever I throw at it, holding up to 8 2L soda bottles and carrying the star rating of this product all on its own. The other two haven't broken yet but the frays have gotten bigger and they're being held together by the inner lining.Makes it hard to decide how to review the product. If all three bags were like the first one this would be a 5-star review across the board, I love the size and the sturdiness. If they were all like the worst bag this would have been a 1-star review made much sooner instead of "well let's see if I can make do." Nobody else has mentioned this so maybe I was a fluke? Make your own decisions accordingly.Well made, and the interior pockets make it easy to isolate something you want to keep from bounding around, like glass. Would purchase again.We shop three days each week for groceries and always bring our own bags. We recently purchased these grocery bags to replace some that needed replacement. These bags are designed well with pockets, large enough without being too heavy when filled, and the sturdy canvas gives us assurance that the bags will not tear. In short, GREAT PRODUCT!I like that they are large but they are hard to fill, you need 3 hands, 2 to hold the bag open and 1 to put the item in. I kept them because I didn’t feel like returning them but I wish that the sides were stiff so they would stay open.My community recently banned plastic bags (good -- they're one of the most common roadside trash items I see befouling the landscape), so I got these canvas bags. They are great, but larger than I expected. Fill one of them up with canned goods or drinks, and you'll need a weightlifter to get them in your car. I recommend getting a few smaller ones as well, or some collapsible crates, and use these big dogs for produce, paper goods, chips... you get the picture. But a good product, economical and well-constructed.
