I got this to cook my first spiral ham this year for Easter. I’m an intermediate level cook, but not inspiring to audition for Masterchef either. You’ll get two bags, and two mini zip ties. The roasting bag feels like cellophane wrap used on gift baskets. It can however withstand heat up to 390 degrees. Where you tie it off to close the bag, I recommend you put four one inch slits in the top to allow the bag to vent during roasting.I submerged my eleven pound spiral cut ham into warm water for 90 minutes to reduce roasting time in the oven. Then I lowered my oven rack to the lowest position of the oven. I put my ham in the bag bone side down(The widest part) at 250 degrees using 10 minutes per pound or until the internal temperature thermometer registered at 100 degrees. I took it out removing the zip tie exposing the top. The plastic is easy to roll down, and it wasn’t scalding hot. I do use oven gloves to prevent burning myself. I applied one third of my glaze with a silicone brush, while turning the heat up to 350. I returned the ham in with the now open top for 15 minutes for the glaze to carmelize.I took the roasting pan out. My ham was glistening with beauty. I rolled the bag back to expose the ham more, so I could gently lift it out with large forks to transfer it to a cutting board. My Mom held the plastic down, while I lifted it. I tented it with foil so it could rest for 15 minutes. All of the mess was inside the bag making cleanup a breeze, and now my oven was free for me to get my sides in the oven while my ham rested.Needless to say, I was left with juicy tender ham full of flavor. My husband was able to cut through the meat with minimal effort. To my surprise, the ham caused a feeding frenzy at the table. You know your cooking is good when guests circle back for another helping.I’m so happy with this products performance in making my Easter dinner something to remember. Just get this. The performance of this bag proved to be my secret weapon for my Easter dinner. I’d give this twenty stars if I could.
